I'm not just taking vocal range, I mean dynamic range in general: the soft to loud steps in music. Its why you feel emotion when Josh goes from a G2 to a Bb4, why you jump during the sudden crash of drums on Hayley's 'Benedictus' or when Camilla hits those high notes. Its mostly the orchestral backing that makes the music sound dynamic but the vocals of the artist certainly benefit from all this dynamic range.
